UK Internet Ad Spend Up 38%, to Overtake TV in ‘09

WHAT: Online advertising in the UK grew from the smallest sector in 2003 to the third largest in 2007,. This is more than £2.8 billion in expenditures or a 38% year-on-year increase and a market share of 15.3%, according to findings released this recently.

What is even more interesting is that online looks set to overtake spending on TV in the UK by the end of 2009!

To put in in different way, this means that online will become the largest medium according to the study by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the World Advertising Research Centre (WARC).

SO WHAT: The future is here. Other countries will follow. There is hope even for laggards, like Greece.
