Looking inside your brain

WHAT: Neuroscientist and inventor Christopher deCharms demoed an amazing new way to use fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) to show brain activity (emotion, body movement, pain) while it is happening .

HOW: In a hypothetical example, you can move your hand and see in a monitor the parts of the brain that are responsible for this activity. In other words, you can literally see how you move your hand.

SO WHAT: The big insight is that up that when you can see your brain, you can learn how to control it.

We are the first generation that has this ability. Where will we take it?
